"Work on the book, work on the book." That thought pestered me for my whole Christmas vacation. "Across the Centuries," a nationwide 7th grade social studies book which maligns Christianity and embraces Islam, had recently gotten my attention. Not that I had time for it. I was to have a whole week off from child-care over Christmas vacation, a much needed time of silence and freedom. HA!
"Work on the book, work on the book."
"But GOD! (whiney voice) What about that Christmas party?" The reply was consistent,
"Work on the book."
I'm a slow reader. The textbook was HUGE. I had expected to find a plethora of religions trying to subtly draw my children in equally. It shocked me how much Islam was promoted.
As I flipped around, obvious affronts leapt off the page everywhere. I noted them and dug in with careful scrutiny, thinking I would find even more. But just about everything I was to find, I found at first glance. Even two small sentences buried in other sections of the book. I know who was directing my hand. Only God could show me so much in such a short time.
"Work on the book, work on the book."
Oh I was so sick of that book! It angered me as I found bigotry upon bias. I wanted to sue everybody. I wanted to load up on ammunition and start blasting, and God was giving me plenty of ammo. But before I was finished, God dealt with my attitude. He reminded me that these people, the teachers, the school board, the book authors, the State, Jesus DIED for these very people! He said, "LOVE them!" Oh that was hard. He made me realize that some of these school board members were why He had left the 99 in search of the one. "But, Go-o-O-O-o-o-d!" Ever try to, "but, GOD!" to God? It doesn't work.
Emotional roller-coasters. I hate 'em. When God stretches me to go beyond myself and see through His eyes, ouch! And my flesh (ego) just wants to belt away in defense of my kids with everything I've got. God says gently and expectantly, "I died for them." Oh sweet Jesus. Power under control.
So within days, as Christlike as I could, I pursued media attention and finally found Pacific Justice Institute. I was beginning to make noise. Within a day or two, Tim Timmons (total stranger) invited me to a luncheon four hours away, focusing on combating terrorism. Tim said it would have media attention, but I had no idea what he meant, how to dress or how big it was to be. I had no clue why I should go, but I knew I had to go.
When I arrived, I was stunned. 170 polished professionals from a world I did not know. Politicians, various religious representatives, school representatives, the media. It had been years since I'd seen a valet! Thank God my van wasn't overflowing in toys and graham cracker crumbs like it usually is.
Inside, I felt out of place. Without a clue of how to relate to these people, I thought to myself, "I'll just go hide in the corner and read my Bible." Then that familiar voice of late said, "Jen, get up and go talk to these people." "Yes Sir" was my obedient reply.
I walked into a large room full of people already deeply involved in conversations. So I boldly walked up to a man, (where did that come from?) introduced myself and started to talk, only to be interrupted by people who seemed to be obsessing about his well being. I thought, "Who is this guy?" I later found out it was none other than Mark Ellis of ASSIST news. Now how did I happen to find a major news contact out of a room of 170+ people within about two minutes? (dramatic glance up). I only had enough time before we went to our assigned tables to hand Ellis my 10 pages of "Objections to 'Across the Centuries.' "
It was at this luncheon when the news that a lawsuit had been filed against Byron County School District because children were told to "wear robes, take Islamic names, recite the Quran, play Jihad and pray to Allah." Suddenly news media everywhere wanted to know what our kids were learning. I timidly waved my freshly finished 10 pages of objections and VROOOOOM, it was emailed, posted and read live on radio all over the nation. I did not know the quotes had to be short clips to avoid copyright infringement, but God knew, and Mark Ellis submitted the first story about it, which began the media frenzy.
Eric Hogue of KTKZ radio in Sacramento got a hold of my objections and read them live, his initial outraged reactions expressed all over the capitol of California for all the politicians to hear.
There was no way I could have stirred up all this, it was all God's timing. That was why I felt the urgency to finish my review. All the prayers and tears that were previously shed by so many moms over the last 11 years as their sons and daughters had to read this hideous textbook, God heard them, yes, He heard them. He did not forget us.
Meanwhile, for weeks I had so many phone interviews that I wore out two telephone batteries and my message machine. Friends were calling as well telling me they heard the "Objections" quoted all over the nation, including the 700 Club and other outlets. William La Jeunesse of Fox News interviewed us, which Fox News repeated over and over at various times for weeks.
Then Lee Rodgers of ABC News wanted to cover the story and I was told I had to "keep God out of it." I told them that God was all there was of me, and wouldn't agree. ABC declined, a lot of coverage was lost, but God had other ways of getting the job done, as long as I remained in Him. One way was through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear watchdog, which had linked to my website. There was a lot of evidence that kings and leaders, especially in the middle east, were watching BlessedCause. http://www.blessedcause.org/proof/God%20grants%20evidence.htm
A few days later a reporter really pinned me down about what I would want in a social studies textbook. IF I could have it my way, what would that be? What a poignant question. If I stayed faithful to what God said, "Take heed that you inquire not of other nations and how they serve their gods," and replied that I would want NO religion in textbooks, then the Bible would be gagged as well. I know that if the Bible is matched up to other beliefs, it stands up every time, so would I prefer that all religions be introduced so that the Bible could be allowed as well? Many who claim to be Christian were making that argument. That sounded good but that wasn't what God said. So I asked for counsel again. And again many gave me "politically correct" coaching. It made sense, but it made me grit my teeth. So I prayed.
God was swift in His answer and I have relayed it many times. "God is not confined to what is politically correct." To the question of what should be in textbooks, I will always hold to what God said. If we turn our backs on God, He will turn His back on us. He has already told us in so many ways and in the Bible what we should and should not do. We shall have no other gods before Him. In all of history, God has never once negotiated that commandment. Not once did He tell the Israelites to teach their children about other gods so that other cultures could learn our ways. Not once. And not now. This deceptive ploy has been used to disparage Christianity and promote every other belief, including Satanism.
My own son came home mimicking this reasoning one day. "Mom, its not right that we have Jesus in school because it offends other cultures." I said, "Honey, if we moved to Africa and they worshipped their African god, would we be offended?" No. Kind of a stupid question isn't it. So why are other cultures so offended when they come to what was once a mighty Christian nation and see the word Jesus Christ? Why are we forced to relinquish our own culture?
God is no longer allowed in court, the Ten Commandments are being ripped right off the walls. In public schools, the name of Jesus is virtually outlawed, but Islam and every other pagan god is MANDATED. Our nation acts as though the name of Jesus is a four letter word.
After a long battle, ‘Across the Centuries’ has been changed, but "simulated" Islamic lessons are looming. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals seems to be stalling on the Eklund case. Judge Phyllis Hamilton ruled it is appropriate for our children to "become Muslim", recite worship to Allah by heart, fast for Ramadan and take Muslim names. I suspect the 9th Circuit is stalling long enough for the students to graduate and invalidate the case. http://www.blessedcause.org/PressRelease/impeach%20phyllis%20hamilton.htm
America flaunts so much in God's face. We are the number one distributor of pornography. Would we sacrifice our first-born children to a sex god as the Old Testament pagan religions did? Think not? I remember being in high school and the general consensus was if we got pregnant, just have an abortion, our state will even pay for it. And millions are aborted yearly.
This is a warning to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. If we turn our backs on God, He will turn His back on us. God will never forsake His saints (believers), for He ultimately has an awesome eternal plan for us individually. But as a nation, we HAVE turned our backs on Him, and He WILL lift His protective hand from this nation. Because of the 9th Circuit, our elected officials, judges and apathy, we will reap the whirlwind.
The Truth about Muslims
Recently I have been swarmed with emails from Muslim leaders attempting to convince me Islam is peaceful, that our gods are the same. I ask them one question:
"What do your holy books command if you left Islam?"None have responded because the answer is death. For a people who claim their religion is compatible, a bloody reality is hidden behind a veil of peace.
Are Muslim leaders ignorant or are they purposely lying? The same could be asked of our teachers in America’s public schools who pump our children’s heads full of "peaceful Islam" and persecuted Muslims afflicted by evil Christian Crusaders. How is it possible that history teachers could know so little about history?
Two years ago I addressed our school board with the imbalance in our history textbook concerning Islam. I did not attack Muslims, I presented with charts and direct quotes how our textbook had devoted a huge proportion of Islamic religious beliefs as fact while disparaging Christianity. One school board member angrily accused me of bigotry until another member cautioned him of legal consequences. Today, I am still laying out the facts and continue to be labeled a bigot.
If a Muslim cannot convert to Christianity for fear of death, what label would that same school board member impose on Islam? Answer: Peaceful.
Today, the Chicago Tribune (1) published an article called "Schooled in jihad, Clerics block education reform in Pakistan." Apparently Pakistani textbooks continue to incite children of all ages to slaughter non-Muslims. "Islam comes in the world to dominate the world," says Syed Ali Mohiuddin, who graduated from a madrassa in Rawalpindi. Jihad and martyrdom are learned as early as 5th grade, "emphasizing that a Muslim has no faith if he does not wish for martyrdom."
In Jan. 2002 America set up a payment schedule for aid to Pakistan of $3 billion dollars and President Musharraf announced that all schools must register within two months and adopt a government curriculum. He vowed to close any schools that promote extremism or store weapons. Almost three years later most schools remain unregistered while science, math and English books continue to teach jihad.
In Palestine, textbooks contain:
- "Jews are the Enemies of the Prophets" – Islamic Education for Fourth Grade;
- "Drive out the Jews" – Our Arabic Language for Fifth Grade;
- "Jews are evil" – Islamic Education for Seventh Grade. (2)
In May, 2003, the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (3) released that official government textbooks, published by the Saudi Ministry of Education, present Islam as "the only true religion and all other religions are considered invalid and misguided. Christians and Jews repeatedly labeled as infidels, enemies of Islam who should not be befriended or emulated, and referred to in eight grade textbooks as `apes' and `pigs.' Jews are" regularly "referred to as `wicked nation,' characterized by bribery, deception, betrayal,' and those who abandon Islam for another religion deserve to be killed, or at least imprisoned."
America’s public educators had better begin telling the truth about Islam instead of sugar coating it and force feeding it to our children as a religion to embrace. The holy books of Islam will forever define the religion and all of our attempts to rewrite it as peaceful will ultimately fail. That our teachers and administrators insist upon parading Islam around as ‘peaceful’ because ‘your children need to understand Islam in order to survive in the world’ has got to be nominated for the idiot claim of the century. If Islam must be taught, we should purchase the textbooks from Pakistan and Palestine and teach our children the truth about Islam. Then we could compare our own textbooks as examples of propaganda, a perfect opportunity to apply REAL "critical thinking." (psssp, don’t listen to your teachers, listen to your parents).
Muslims are not to be persecuted, they are to be loved. Not because liberals vainly demand tolerance and lie about reality in order to achieve it; no, we are to love Muslims because God commands that we love even those who hate us. But the truth about Muslims is that many Muslims are fully aware the ‘peace’ of Islam is a deception. Yet many peaceful Muslims honestly believe it is just that, peaceful, and are perplexed when asked about the violence condoned in the Quran, Hadith and Sira. TRUTH is important and indoctrination tactics must be abolished immediately. But public educators adamantly refuse to listen because they cannot stand the thought of parents imposing their (obvious) view on public education’s god of knowledge. But induction practices will not invoke tolerance, it will only invoke Islamic dominance.
Curriculums are underway as we continue to await the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision about 7th grade students being forced to "become Muslim." (4) Teachers and judges do not understand that when they demand children repeat: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger," even in simulation, the Hadith (holy book of Islam) commands that blood can be shed of anyone who confesses such words and then leaves them. (Hadith, Bukhari, volume 9, #17ms)
American soil has already been claimed by Islam (5) and our own schools are working to indoctrinate our children. Our own educational government is providing the Islamic legal right for Muslim terrorists to bomb and murder our children, apostate of Islam.
Love the Muslims? YES. God loves the Muslims so much He would allow us to suffer to share the good news of Christ with them, to reach out to them, regardless of the penalty. But indoctrinate our children to Islam? I have already jeopardized my life to publish the truth. America, hear me. Islam is courting our children while bombing our buildings. Just as mosques conceal weapons, Islam conceals violence. The shocking lunacy of it all is America is buying the lie, even as Russian school children are slaughtered, charity workers are beheaded, suicide bombers abound and "ethnic" cleansing of non-Muslims is happening in the Sudan. Even with all that, parents will look at me blankly and repeat, "But I want my child to understand the peace of Islam..."
And the sheep bleat on.

Abdurahman Alamoudi, President of the American Muslim Council, supporter of Hamas, Hezbollah and accused of ties with Osama bin Laden, helped develop "Religious Expression in Public School" with the ACLU which holds the copyright. Launched by Clinton in 1995, these "Presidential Guidelines" greatly impact public schools today.
Nadine Strossen, President of the ACLU, refers to these guidelines as the authority to support the ACLU’s lawsuits restricting Christmas celebrations and removing Nativity scenes from public schools.
School districts are pressured to utilize Clinton’s guidelines which he sold to America as "issued by 35 religious groups," failing to disclose they include many civil rights groups and are all described by the ACLU as committed to separation of church and state. This explains Strossen's haughty smile as she smugly said on the Lou Dobbs show, "All these religious groups agreed to it!" (12/19/03)
Alamoudi met often with then President and Hillary Clinton and has been described as Hillary’s friend and advisor on Islamic affairs. Protected by Clinton’s Presidential Guidelines, funding for Islamic educational materials began pouring in from Saudi Arabia and Muslim nations. Houghton Mifflin textbooks became saturated with Muslim beliefs as the Council of Islamic Education (CIE) helped write the textbook (originally denied by the publisher, Houghton Mifflin, until their Editorial Director was caught bragging about it in print).
CIE Director, Shabbir Mansuri, boasted that he is waging a "bloodless" revolution, promoting world cultures and faiths in America's classrooms. CIE has warned scholars and public officials who do not sympathize with its requests that they will be perceived as racists, reactionaries, and enemies of Islam.
Islamic organizations that remind Muslims it is their RELIGIOUS OBLIGATION (Dawa) to promulgate Islam are applauding Clinton and his religious guidelines today:
"In the U.S. one of the strongest arguments in favor of seeking religious accommodation for your child is President Bill Clinton's 1995 statement of principles addressing the extent to which religious expression and activity are permitted in public school. This was given to every school district in the United States." ~ SoundVision
Additionally, Clinton went beyond the ACLU copyright guidelines and added:
"Students generally do not have a Federal right to be excused from lessons that may be inconsistent with their religious beliefs or practices."
Pay attention. There went religious freedom.
At the end of his term, Clinton addressed Muslim leaders with a Ramadan message containing quotes from our children's textbooks today. Clinton categorically lists his accomplishments to Muslims:
"As America's six-million-member Muslim community grows in numbers and prominence, Americans of every religious tradition are learning more about the origins and meaning of Islam. That on "the Night of Power," the Angel Gabriel appeared to the Prophet Muhammad and revealed to him the first verses of the Koran. That the Koran declares that Ramadan was the month Allah's words were sent down, and so should be spent in fasting." -Bill Clinton
As terrorists executed attacks on America, then President Clinton slashed our defenses, gutted our intelligence, pardoned terrorists, halted investigations of Islamic charities and negotiated for peace, evidently with a powerful bargaining chip, our children through our public education system.
Fundamentalist Islam is determined to advance, entering by persuasion within our public schools and by sword at our borders. President Clinton has clearly provided both doorways as we are swarmed by two approaches of Islam, courting our children while bombing our buildings.
Is it hard to believe Clinton, professing to be Christian, could betray Christ and America like this? Examine the fruit. Lying under oath, dubious activities with staff, slipping in an ACLU document as written by "religious groups" is compounded when one remembers how Hillary demanded public funding for (brace yourself) a dung covered depiction of the Virgin Mary, with breasts of elephant dung, surrounded by genital pornography at the Brooklyn Museum in October 1999.
Together the Clintons met with Muslim groups in the White House so often it became commonplace. In speeches against President Bush, Clinton has condemned America by blaming us for the Crusades. With this kind of history, it is not hard to believe Clinton betrayed America's Christian heritage and used our children as bargaining chips in negotiations with Islamic leaders.
Today, Christmas and Nativity scenes are outlawed while Clinton's nominee, U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton, recently approved "Islam: A Simulation" where children learn to "become Muslim, recite the Quran, fast for Ramadan and pray to Allah including this prayer:
"In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of Creation, The Compassionate, the Merciful, King of Judgment-day! You alone we worship, and to You alone we pray for help, Guide us to the straight path."
The double-standard is shocking, but one need only look at our public school guidelines and who wrote them, with clauses designed to open or close doors at the will of the ACLU, to discover how our nation finds itself in such a dreadful state today.

HOW THE ACLU STOLE CHRISTMAS
Jen Shroder
As children attend celebrations that include Islam’s Moon or the Jewish Menorah, Christian children feel the cold slap of oppression. No Christmas. How did this happen?
Because in 1995, Clinton’s Presidential Guidelines, Religious Expression in Public School, were originally drafted by the ACLU. These guidelines appeared to protect Christian rights, but for every single "religious expression," there is a clause of escape, a backdoor for groups like the ACLU to attack Christianity at will.
These guidelines were presented to America as drafted by "thirty-five religious groups." The truth is they were drafted by the American Muslim Council, American Humanist Association, Americans United for Seperation (sic) of Church and State, many more recognizable secularist groups among a few Christian-sounding names, along with the ACLU which also holds the copyright.
Clinton sold us these guidelines with much profession of his Christian faith. Sincerity is lost, however, when one remembers how Hillary demanded public funding for (brace yourself) a dung covered depiction of the Virgin Mary, with breasts of elephant dung, surrounded by genital pornography at the Brooklyn Museum.
Meanwhile, Islam is alive and well in our public schools. Textbooks proselytize Muslim beliefs as fact, children are asked to PARTICIPATE in religious practices, university freshmen are MANDATED to read quotes from the Quran supported by the ACLU, and nothing happens. Why?
Because Clinton preferred to "negotiate" with Muslim leaders rather than answer terrorists with our military. Clinton’s religious guidelines are applauded by many Islamic organizations that remind Muslims it is their RELIGIOUS OBLIGATION (Dawa) to promulgate Islam:
President Clinton even went beyond the ACLU's issued guidelines and added:

At the end of his term, then-President Clinton seemingly relayed fulfillment of a promise as he addressed Muslim nations in his Ramadan message:
America does not comprehend Muslim resolve to make America Islam. Suicide bombers have already demonstrated their willingness to kill and die for it. Clinton gave them Dawa, our schools, our very children with his religious guidelines and cloaked it with a false inclusion of Christianity. America, it is time to shout "ENOUGH." Our children are not for sale, we will fight for our religious freedom and YES, a seven-year-old MAY say the word CHRISTMAS!

"Mom, why can’t we say ‘Christmas’ in our song?" a seven-year-old asks. Darla Dowell didn’t want to tell her daughter the truth, "Because the birth of Jesus is banned."

When Christian Educators Prefer Islam
By Jen Shroder
Due to the efforts of Christian Educators Association International (CEAI) and others, public school textbooks remain rife with Muslim indoctrination. When the textbook publisher, Houghton Mifflin (HM), came under fire last year with accusations of proselytizing Islam, Forrest Turpen, Executive Director of CEAI, publicly defended the textbook. TruthorFiction.com (link below) noted the “Christian group” and wrote, “Turpen says the teaching about Islam has not been "slipped" into the curriculum…In fact," says Turpen, "the state of California has been a leader in requiring a balance of teaching about who we are and what has empowered us as a civilization."
BlessedCause, the organization that originally complained about the Islamic propaganda, wrote to Forrest Turpen and asked why he endorsed the textbook. Turpen wrote: "we focused only our attention on the Christian perspectives that were written and did not look at or compare the other content of the texts...In essence we did no evaluation of the other religions addressed in any of the textbooks of the HM series."
No evaluation. Yet Mr. Turpen, representing a “Christian group,” defended HM and quelled public outrage.
BlessedCause continued correspondence with Dan Elliott, Vice Chairman of CEAI, who wrote, “Our organization is not a “Christian Education” organization. It is a professional educators organization. We support teachers and administrators, working primarily in public schools who are Christians.” Elliott also confirmed CEAI did not evaluate the 7th grade textbook: “We did not review the information about islam but only some limited sections of one text book about Christianity.”
If Christian Educators is not a Christian organization per se, and did not evaluate the Islam unit, why was Turpen quoted like an expert representing Christians at TruthorFiction? BlessedCause asked CEAI to retract their statements. CEAI refused.
CEAI is a paid consultant for HM’s 6th grade textbook “A Message of Ancient Days.” BlessedCause reviewed this textbook including “Christianity and the Fall of Rome” and found Christians are blamed for the fall of Rome, Old Testament prophets provide an excuse for religious faith and Tacitus, a historical figure, shares that Christians deserve death for their “hatred against mankind.” Our children are left with that thought, unanswered. Additionally, one gets a description of Jesus that follows the Quran rather than the Bible. (see much more at www.blessedcause.org )
What a contrast to the Islam Unit with many statements such as
“The Quran is the final revelation, just as Muhammad is the final prophet”
and “In fact, the very first word the angel Gabriel spoke to Muhammad was recite.”
Religious beliefs of Islam compose 10 times the text compared to the Christian Unit, with fewer disclaimers such as “Muslims believe.”(see graph) Instead of asking children to assume they are Muslim soldiers, in the Christian section they are asked to imagine they are back in the catacombs of dead Christians. It’s cleverly written in a fun way, but bottom line, that’s the exercise. In the Jewish section, children are asked to imagine they are with Jews forced from their homeland.
Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. With California spending $400 million per year on textbooks, Christian Educators sold out Jesus for a mere $500.
On July 25th, Forrest Turpen announced his resignation as Executive Director. Dan Elliott wrote BlessedCause privately on July 19th, “You are absolutely correct in saying that those things in the HM books about Islam should not have been there,” yet to date, CEAI refuses to retract their statements or renounce the textbook publicly. And the school year rapidly approaches, textbook replete.
A federal lawsuit has been filed by Thomas More Law Center regarding the Islam issue in public school. I do not accept donations, but Thomas More has been fighting for our rights as a free Christian legal organization. Please help support them if you can.
California's Department of Education has quietly removed ISLAM: A Simulation from their "approved" list at their website , confirmed by Suzanne C. Rios, Administrator of the Curriculum Framework and Instructional Resources Office for the Calif. State Dept. of Education.
Christian children, the bodies of Christ, are being crucified on the cross of public school. How long will we abandon our children to suffer this onslaught of their faith alone?
Jen Shroder is founder of BlessedCause.org, where dozens of exact quotes from both textbooks can be found, as well as documentation of children praying to Allah on their hands and knees at the request of teachers.
